Gaza Calls: Canada Answers
Location: Online and in local venuesOn November 26, 2016, the Canadian Churches and Church Related Organizations Forum on the Middle East sponsored a video-conference to connect three prominent Palestinians and church representatives with over a dozen locally organized venues across Canada.
In 2018 we’ll be hosting another Gaza Calls video conference.
Three horrifying wars and a decade long punishing blockade have made it increasingly difficult to visit Gaza or for Gazans to visit us. At the same time, the importance of hearing their voices and deepening our solidarity grows ever more urgent. This video-conference helped Canadians to connect with Gazans. This event allowed us to strengthen our solidarity and ensure that our Gazan partners’ voices are given a wide hearing. The event also provided an opportunity to raise funds for the Al Ahli Arab Hospital and Near East Council of Churches (NECC) Clinics in Gaza.
