Palestinian Solidarity with the Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island

February 19, 2020

As the Wet’suwet’en continue their protest against the Canadian government and RCMP, we would like to share the stories of solidarity between Palestinians and the world’s indigenous peoples and how they have formed deep bonds of cooperation and sympathy due to their shared struggles against 21st-century colonialism. Here are two articles that explore this bond further:

Palestinians stand in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en nation
“Palestinians owe the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island a great debt for teaching us how to resist settler colonialism generation after generation through your powerful resistance, grace and indomitable spirit.”

Solidarity between Palestinians and Indigenous Activists has Deep Roots
“The bonds of shared trauma, shared resistance to settler colonialism and the enduring spirit of defending the land will keep the solidarity between Palestinians and the indigenous people of Turtle Island alive for generations.”
