Anglican Delegation Program

The Naim Ateek Anglican Delegation Program is a partnership between Canadian Friends of Sabeel and Sabeel Jerusalem, established in honour of Rev. Dr. Naim Ateek.

About the Delegation

November 2024 (precise dates to be determined)

The delegation is open to all active clergy in the Dioceses of Toronto and Niagara, members of religious orders, postulants, and laity, including diocesan and parish staff.

Subsidies are available.

During the delegation you will:

  • Be in solidarity with the Palestinian Christian community,

  • Visit: Bethlehem, Mount of Olives, Nazareth, Capernum, Jacob's Well, & many more places!

  • Experience the realities of the Palestinian community living under Israeli Occupation: the Wall, settlements, checkpoints, confiscated land and demolished homes, refugee camps, and environmental degradation,

  • Spend time with the people,

  • Worship with Palestinian Christians,

  • Meet and reflect with Palestinian Christians, Muslims, and Jewish Israelis and internationals who partner with Sabeel in non-violent resistance against the violation of international and humanitarian law.

Applicants must commit to:

  • Participate in the pre-delegation preparation session which will begin in August.

  • Attend for the full duration of the delegation.

  • Support the principle of "Go and See, Come and Tell".

  • Put together a presentation for their selected faith-based communities upon return.

  • Share their experience before, during and after the trip with their communities.
