The Mount of Olives is mentioned in the Old and New Testaments and is regarded as a sacred place of prayer, worship and pilgrimage. Here, hope and the suffering of the cross come together.
Lent is coming to an end and Easter will soon be upon us. In this special ‘in between’ time, CFOS invites you to immerse yourself in the spiritual life of Palestinian Christians and the political reality that obstructs, and also strengthens, their faith. Palm Sunday on the real Mount of Olives, walking from Bethany to Jerusalem with the ecumenical Christian community, is a brilliant experience.
Several members of the CFOS Board have had the privilege of experiencing it in person. It was a life-changing experience for all of us. We invite you to live it virtually with us this year.
Join us for a virtual pilgrimage on the Mount of Olives with Palestinian tour guide, Saleem Anfous. We will learn about the history, the current political situation and the special place that this part of the land holds for Palestinian Christians, visiting:
- Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations
- Dominus Flevit
- Palm Sunday Walk
- and a special spot on the Mount of Olives overlooking the Old City
Saleem Anfous will be our tour guide, and we will be joined by Rev. Dr. Munther Isaac for a reflection.
