CFOS endorses ecumenical statement
CFOS wholeheartedly endorses the statement issued by Canadian churches and church-related organizations calling for accountability for all war crimes in Palestine and Israel and in particular the genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza. We echo the concerns expressed in the letter regarding the possible “Gazafication” of the West Bank as evidenced in the expanding violence, forced displacements, and arbitrary killings and arrests by Israeli forces including illegal settlers.

Layan Nasir taken by IDF again
On April 9, 2024, Layan Nasir, a young Christian Palestinian woman and university student, was detained by the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) and placed into Israeli military detention. She was taken away at gunpoint from her family home in the West Bank town of Birzeit. No arrest warrant or charges were laid.
