Canadian Friends of Sabeel is a national ecumenical response to the call of Palestinian Christians for solidarity. Through education and engagement, we support the struggle for equality in justice, freedom, and human rights of Palestinians living under apartheid and the illegal Israeli military occupation. With partners around the world, we work non-violently for a just and durable peace for Palestinians and Israelis.

Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage
CFOS supports the Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage. Originally begun as a Lenten initiative to “prayerfully map Gaza” onto communities around the world, the pilgrimage continues beyond Lent. Kairos Canada is urging churches and faith communities to join by walking and wheeling/rolling in solidarity with Gaza. Church leaders will meet with the Government and Canada representatives and Parliamentarians on May 22-23, 2024 to share the key calls of Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage.

Peace Vigil Resource
In the context of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, and Israel’s subsequent military onslaught on Gaza, CFOS produced a resource for Canadian congregations and communities to grieve the violence and to pray for peace. This resource describes how to organize a public witness event or peace vigil.
