New Israeli Gov’t Announces Annexation Plans for Summer 2020
April 23, 2020This week, the two largest parties in the Israeli Knesset signed a coalition agreement that included clauses that called for the annexation of parts of the West Bank on July 1 of this year. Both parties that lead this new coalition have expressed their support for the annexation of large swaths of the West Bank. International observers have warned that this would constitute a clear violation of international law will cause backlash from other nations. Furthermore, the question of the thousands of Palestinians who currently live in the areas designated for annexation has not yet been answered.
